The Worry Doll

What is a Worry Doll?

Worry Dolls are known as 'trouble dolls' and are tiny colourful dolls that you whisper your worries to before you go to bed. According to Guatemalan legend you whisper your worries to your Worry Doll then place the doll under your pillow for a peaceful night sleep. In the morning when you wake, your dolls have taken all your worries away.

The Guatemalan Indians make small magical bags out of their famous striped cloth and inside the bag are six tiny dolls made from little splinters of wood and bits of cloth and thread.

Traditionally a bag of Worry Dolls was presented to a child in the family who is worried or frightened. The child was given one worry doll and instructed to tell one fear or trouble to the doll then place under the pillow and go to sleep. The next morning the worry doll is gone from the bed taking that worry with it. A course of six days worry-removal is usually sufficient to help make a child happy again. Worry Dolls are of course suitable for adults too!

Alternatively, you can bring your Worry Doll to the office and provide yourself with a tiny but powerful source of stress relief!
